People are so awesome! Karen Duren, District Literacy Coordinator of Monona Grove School District is going to have me in to talk to her students about world-building in my novel. She said this about Backbiters: "It is very timely, as it fits in with social issues right now - pollution and accepting people who are different. I also like the idea of a female protagonist - especially one who is not afraid to be smart. Girls need to see that . . . There was a good mix of teen issues, timely topics, and quirky elements of a fantasy world." I am so happy to be able to encourage young people to use their creativity and to write!
